Universal Salvation: The Purpose of God
It is absolutely incredible that one day we are all going to be eternal - live forever; never to die again. And it gets better. We are all going to have the nature of God. Now you have not heard any better news this week, have you? In fact you have never heard any better news in your entire life. Just stop right there and think about it. You and all the ones that you love, will one day live forever. And everyone who has ever lived, will one day be resurrected and eventually be given eternal life. But this is only part of the good news of Universal Salvation, because it not only includes human beings, it also includes spirit beings.
Did you know that the cross also extends to spirit beings? If you read Colossians 1:20 it says this: "and by Him (Jesus) to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross."
The blood of the cross extends to the spirit realm too.
But most of you will know that the Bible says somewhere that some are to go into the lake of fire, including Satan and the demons. Yes it does. And you believe the lake of fire to be either eternal suffering or eternal death.
But what you do not know is that God has a plan that will take them all out again. It is just that The Holy Spirit has never revealed it to you.
Jesus said at Matthew 11:25: "I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes." Therefore, if the Father is revealing His purpose to babes, it stands to reason that we have to be very careful just how we feed you. A baby has to walk before it can run. It also has to crawl before it can walk.
No one puts a roof on a house before it has walls, and no one builds walls until there is a solid foundation to build them on. God intends to give you all a solid foundation, build the walls for you, and then put the roof on. So let us start with the foundations.
Universal Salvation is the purpose of God. At 2 Peter 3:9 it says this: "The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is long suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance." Can you see what it is saying? "The Lord is...not willing that any should perish..." Read it for yourself.
The Greek word there for "willing" is boulomenoV (Boulomenos) from boulomai (Boulomai) and it means, to will deliberately, to have a purpose.
The deliberate will of God is His purpose. Therefore, if His deliberate will is that no one should perish, His purpose must be for all to be saved. And that is Universal Salvation.
Isaiah 14:24 has this to say: "The Lord of hosts has sworn, saying, Surely, as I have thought, so it shall come to pass, And as I have purposed, so it shall stand". No purpose of God can fail, and Universal Salvation is the purpose of God.
Some of your family and friends may have passed away, but ALL will be back at sometime to stay.
